1. Open with a promise the caption fulfills
Lead with a decision, constraint, number or contrast that the rest of the copy can prove. “We are excited to announce” carries less information than “we rejected the first version because it created more maintenance for the customer.”
2. Add an ownable fact
Use a detail a competitor cannot borrow truthfully: a material, timing decision, customer-safe observation, mistake or trade-off. Specific facts are the foundation of voice because they reveal how the business notices and decides.
3. Translate the fact into customer relevance
Explain what changes for the reader. Replace “advanced process” with the practical difference, such as a simpler follow-up or clearer choice. Do not invent benefits the team cannot verify.
4. Match the action to readiness
Education may end with a save or a related guide. A case can lead to process details. Factual availability can lead to booking. One caption should not ask for a like, comment, share, follow and purchase at the same time.
